Naomi Larh

Artist Milliners is a group of artists who work at the boundary of millinery and fine art. The group, founded in 2026, facilitates community salons and exhibitions that foreground exciting, transgressive voices in the industry. Founded by award-winning milliners Naomi Larh and Barnaby Horn, Artist Milliners present their first exhibition ‘A Hat at the Void’ in London, October 2026.

Naomi Larh is an artist whose practice centres around the dressed head, a site of protection and exposure, concealment and display. Her hats bring history, folklore, pop culture, streetwear and surrealism into conversation with millinery’s heritage traditions. She sees hats as wearable artworks or characters, circulating ideas when worn, carried and performed.
Larh has worn a hat daily since childhood, as a way to shield herself from the outside world, a home that travels with her. Raised on the UK festival circuit, she spent summers touring with crews and travelled across Europe and East Asia.
Her background in fine art, fashion and costume formed her distinct concerns as a designer. Before making millinery her focus, she worked across illustration, screenprinting, murals and animation, and spent several years as a costumier at Carnival Costumes in Bristol. She studied wool and sinamay millinery with Ani Stafford-Townsend in 2017, then began working with couture milliner Judy Bentinck in 2021. She founded her label in 2022.
Committed to slow fashion, Larh uses ethical, low-impact materials to make durable pieces intended to be worn for many years.
In 2026, Larh co-founded Artist Milliners with Barnaby Horn. Through salons and exhibitions, the group brings together artists who push at millinery’s technical and creative limits, with a focus on transgressive voices.
