Dr Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg is an artist examining how technologies embody human ideas of progress and reshape the living world. Since 2008, she has worked with synthetic biology, artificial intelligence, algorithms and simulation as both artistic media and subjects of critique.
Spanning digital, material and living forms, her practice brings nonhuman perspectives into human view and asks whose interests are served by visions of a “better” future. In 2023, she won the European Commission’s S+T+ARTS Grand Prize for Pollinator Pathmaker, an algorithmically designed living artwork for pollinators, with editions planted at the Eden Project, Serpentine Galleries, London, and Museum für Naturkunde Berlin.
Ginsberg holds a PhD from the Royal College of Art and was awarded the distinction of Royal Designer for Industry in 2025. She is an artist resident at Somerset House Studios, London.
