How Lisa Tremble left their lane.
After roles across politics, law and financial services, Lisa Tremble joined British Airways in 2021 and now leads Customer and People.
Lisa Tremble began her career in politics.
She spent the first part of her working life inside government, including as a special adviser to Cabinet ministers such as David Miliband. It was an early education in institutions, reputation and the relationship between what an organisation says and how people experience it.
Then she took that experience into business.
Tremble moved through public affairs at Lexington, law at Mishcon de Reya and financial services at Direct Line Group, where she led Corporate Affairs and Sustainability.
In 2021, she joined British Airways with responsibility for Corporate Affairs, Engagement and Sustainability. Two years later, her role expanded to include People.
More recently, she took on the customer brief too.
It brings together two parts of a business that are often discussed separately: the experience of the people who work for it and the experience of the people they serve.
For an airline, the connection is unusually visible. A brand promise is ultimately delivered by thousands of individual interactions, at the airport, in the cabin, online and when something goes wrong.
Tremble started her career helping institutions communicate what they stood for.
Her role now sits much closer to the harder question: how do you make sure people actually experience it?
