After building digital travel businesses, Ranjan Singh turned to healthcare and co-founded HealthHero in 2019.
Ranjan Singh spent the early part of his career watching digital technology transform travel.
He held leadership roles at Expedia and ebookers before co-founding isango!, an online marketplace for tours and experiences. The business grew rapidly before being acquired by TUI in 2013.
The lesson Singh took from travel was bigger than the sector itself.
Industries can become accustomed to complexity. Booking a trip once meant navigating multiple providers, limited information and considerable friction. Digital platforms changed the expectation of what the experience could feel like.
A move into private equity brought Singh into healthcare, and he began to see a similar gap.
The technology existed. What was missing was a model capable of bringing the different parts of the healthcare journey together around the patient.
In 2019, he co-founded HealthHero. Since then, the company has grown across Europe through digital consultations, triage and wider healthcare services. It now says it delivers care to 35 million people and conducts around four million consultations each year.
Singh’s career has moved from travel to investment to healthcare, but the instinct underneath it has stayed remarkably consistent.
